A pair of Walled Lake Northern golfers qualify for the state championship

Walled Lake Northern juniors Logan Fitrzyk and Alex Lotsis punched their tickets to the MHSAA Division 1 State Championship after finishing in the Top 5 at the regional championship on Wednesday at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Oakland Township.

Fitrzyk and Lotsis earned two of the three individual qualifier spots after a big day on the course. Lotsis took third overall shooting a 1-under, 70, and Fitrzyk finished fifth overall with an even par, 71.

The two-day MHSAA Division 1 State Championship begins on Friday, June 6, at Forest Akers West on the campus of Michigan State University.
