Xello

Xello is a great resource for career investigation and exploration for the entire family.

Students in Grades 7 through 12 grades will use Xello to store and update their Educational Development Plans annually. Xello is an online application that consolidates the latest career development tools, occupational information systems, and employment-related online references into one interface, so it’s easy for students to use.  This provides the students with an experience similar to the one they would receive as an adult, working with a career development services counselor. 

What is an Educational Development Plan (EDP)?

An Educational Development Plan is a state-mandated career plan every student in grades 7 through 12 must complete as part of their graduation requirements. Think of it as an electronic filing cabinet. In it, you can store all of the information your child needs to plan their education and career path.

What does Xello offer?

Xello includes career development tools and assessments, so students can evaluate their interests, which will determine career matches and skills, that can help decide an individualized path after high school. 

Tools

  • Pathways - Xello provides information for students to learn about different directions they can take after high school.
  • Plans and Goals - Xello provides students with a way to set, track, and complete plans based on the pathway categories.
  • Resumes - Xello provides students a way to create an initial resume, based on experiences, skills, interests, education, and more.
  • Portfolios - Xello provides students with a way to publish a page that will showcase their work and reflect on what they have learned.  This can include photos, videos, journal entries, school projects
  • Assessments – Determine how you learn best, what skills you prefer to use, and what your personality style is as it relates to careers.  These key assessments help determine what careers align with your preferences.
  • Career, College, and Major Filters – Xello offers a way to search based on unique criteria, as well as your results from your assessments
